80 talented UK writers, 25 innovative UK literature organisations

The International Literature Showcase (ILS) is an online showcase of contemporary British Literature and an interactive platform for international literature professionals to meet online, share insights and collaborate.

This new online space features 80 of the most exciting and talented UK writers and 25 of the most innovative UK literature organisations, enabling them to connect with international literature professionals, creatives, publishers, agents, translators and producers. The space also caters for general arts audiences who want to see, read and learn more about contemporary British literature.

10 month programme of online events, talks, workshops and more

The showcase is complimented by a 10 month programme of online events including talks and performances, virtual workshops, panel discussions, podcasts and editorials around international creative exchange in the literature sector. On 17 October 2016 the first 40 authors and 25 organisations were announced, and is followed by a series of online events with Pat Barker, Liz Berry, Malorie Blackman, Sebastian Faulks, Jackie Kay, Michael Morpurgo and Benjamin Zephaniah. The ILS is curated by Writers’ Centre Norwich with the support of the British Council.
