Description
WorldWords Radio is a series of ten fifteen-minute radio programmes produced by the British Council, which offer learners of English around the world the chance to discover the UK through our contemporary literature.

These programmes feature British poets and novelists reading their work and engaging with their own texts; each writer answers questions from the presenter and from international students about their extract, their motivation and their personal responses to the reading.

WorldWords Radio opens up British literature to students in classrooms all over the world and offers an engaging way to get involved with British literature and explore cultural connections through writing. Read about which writers are featured in the programmes here.

The programmes are aimed at students with an advanced standard of English and an interest in writing, and each programme is accompanied by comprehensive teaching notes downloadable from the Teaching English website.
